At it's
October 12th meeting, the Executive
committee of the Board of Directors of the Regional Association of
West Quebecers accepted with regret the resignation of Richard
Henderson from his position as Executive Director.

Temporary Access to English School Approved for
Cohen Parasiuk
A
positive step
forward has been taken in the case of Cohen Parasiuk, the 7 year-old
Wakefield boy who is fighting a legal battle for the right to attend a
bilingual program at an English school with his friends in the town
where he lives. Cohen has been allowed temporary access to attend
Wakefield Elementary School pending a decision on an appeal in the case
this December.

1st Annual Community Awards Banquet
The atmosphere at Camp Fortune’s main lodge Friday June 11th was
brimming with excitement and joy as more than a hundred
people joined in the celebrations at the first annual
West Quebecers Awards banquet.

New Community Liaison and Communications Officer
The
Board of Directors welcomes Gaetanne Séguin
of Aylmer as our new Community Liaison and Communications Officer (CLCO)
effective immediately. Gaetanne takes over the position from Kathy
Teasdale who retired in December, and will be dearly missed.
