The
Pontiac Historical Society is appealing for funds to enable
it to renovate the roof of the Pontiac Museum,
housed in the former Shawville Railway Station (the only
remaining station building in the Pontiac). The extra space
created will be used to improve the displays. A pictorial
history can be seen at the website:

A log house, which may be the oldest in Pontiac County, is
being restored by David Inglis of Gatineau.
It belonged to Angus McClellan, who died in 1898 and is
buried in the United Cemetery in Campbell’s Bay. Mr.
Inglis, who has spent nearly $30,000 of his money on the
project, hopes that the building may eventually become a
coffee and doughnut shop for tourists, and a small museum,
when the PPJ Cycloparc eventually opens.
