December 11.  Rupert Annual Christmas Concert.  At 24 Shouldice Road, Rupert, 7.00 pm.   Participation invited (plays, skits, songs, dances).  Everyone is welcome. 
Non-perishable food donations accepted for needy families.  Santa will arrive later in the evening, so please bring a $10.00 (maximum) gift for your child. For information call Debbie at (819) 456-4461.

December 22.  Christmas Concert at Queen Elizabeth  School, Kazabazua.  Starts at 1.00 pm. The concert is open to parents and families of the school’s students.  It will display the school choir’s singing talents, and classes will perform plays and recitations in celebration of Christmas.

Alcove writer honoured.  In the Eaton Auditorium in Toronto on October 18 the Governor General, Adrienne Clarkson, presented Gunda Lambton, from Alcove, with a Heritage Toronto Award for her book “Sun in Winter”, which offers descriptions of Toronto as it was in the 1940s.  The volume is published by McGill-Queen’s University Press.
