HULL COMMUNITY EVENTS

June 17 to July 18 'Moon Under Leo'.
An exhibition of paintings by Marcio Melo at the
Galerie Montcalm, 25 Laurier Street,
Gatineau (Hull). Vernissage will be held :
June 17 from 7 pm to 9 pm.
To celebrate the opening of the exhibition, the Embassy of Brazil and the City of Gatineau invite you to a concert of the Brazilian guitarist Oswaldo Barbosa from 7 -  7:30 pm in the "L'agora Gilles Rocheleau" just outside the gallery.
Marcio Melo has taken the inspiration of the Fiery Leo Moon, and with his paintings, sets our hearts aflame with dramatic flare and a  playful, royal attitude.

June 20 - August 13.  Exhibition of photographs by Brenda-Lee Wilson. Foyer du Théâtre de l'Île, 1 Wellington, Gatineau.  Opening hours: Monday to Friday, noon to 8:00 pm.  Formal opening: Sunday, June 20, 2:00 to 4:00 pm.  Free admission.

June 27Benefit concert of favorite hymns and anthems at St. James Anglican Church, 62 Promenade du Portage, Gatineau. 4:30 pm. With "Full Spectrum", the First United Church (Port Credit) youth group, accompanied by Ms. Maribeth Graham, and organist, Mr. Stuart Sladden, Director of Music at St. James.  Advanced tickets  purchased prior to June 14 are $10.00. Tickets purchased on or after June 14 are  $15.00 and $10.00 for students and seniors.  Children under 12 are free when accompanied by an adult.  For information and tickets: call (819)  771 – 9914. 
St. James is a
n historic church in Hull. The purpose of the concert is to raise funds for this church and for the First United Church in Port Credit, Ontario.  The organist at St. James, Mr. Sladden, is looking at the possibility of an annual workshop which would include a special musical event such as this concert.
