June 24.  Back 40 Stage.  Last of the season’s series of Thursday night performances.  Hosted by Ron Moores’ Back 40 Band;  guest Brock Zeman, backed by Keith Glass of Prairie Oyster.  At Rasputin’s Folk Café,  696 Bronson Ave., Ottawa.  7.30 pm.  Admission: $5.00 (proceeds in support of CKCU-FM Community Radio, located at Carleton University).
Every last Thursday of each month, (except July, August and December), Ron Moores and the Back 40 Band host the "Back 40 Stage". On Thursday, January 29th., they began their fourth year at Rasputin’s. 
The musicians of Back 40 come from both Quebec and Ontario.  Ron Moores resides in Cantley.  The Band broadcasts on CKCU-FM Community Radio (93.1) at noon on Saturdays.

Benefit concert of favorite hymns and anthems at St. James Anglican Church, 62 Promenade du Portage, Gatineau. 4:30 pm. With "Full Spectrum", the First United Church (Port Credit) youth group, accompanied by Ms. Maribeth Graham, and organist, Mr. Stuart Sladden, Director of Music at St. James.  Advanced tickets  purchased prior to June 14 are $10.00. Tickets purchased on or after June 14 are  $15.00 and $10.00 for students and seniors.  Children under 12 are free when accompanied by an adult.  For information and tickets: call (819)  771 – 9914. 
St. James is a
n historic church in Hull. The purpose of the concert is to raise funds for this church and for the First United Church in Port Credit, Ontario.  The organist at St. James, Mr. Sladden, is looking at the possibility of an annual workshop which would include a special musical event such as this concert. 

June 27.  Christ Church Strawberry Fest. Sunday afternoon on the rectory lawn of Christ Church, Aylmer, 101 Symmes Street from 12 noon to 3 p.m. Sandwiches will be served for lunch along with strawberries for dessert. Live Celtic and classical background music featuring local talent.
Activities for children include: Puppets, hands-on clay sculpturing and an
ice cream booth

"Quebec Off the Beaten Path". Outaouais author Katherine Fletcher and her husband Eric are currently working on the 4th editon of this popular guidebook. The 3rd edition, published by the Globe Pequot Press in January 2004 is still available. The new edition will be available this fall.  Other books by Katharine Fletcher are: Historical Walks: The Gatineau Park Story,
