May 16.  Wakefield's own Don McMillan and The Bill Jupp Big Band.  At the Black Sheep Inn, Wakefield, 3.00 pm.

June 4 to 6.  Studio Art Show, presenting paintings by Marilyn Smith including watercolors, acrylics and mixed media. 
At 189 Wakefield Heights Road, Wakefield.  Wine and cheese.

June 7. 2nd Annual “Local Artist Week”.  This event forms  Week 5 of the Wakefield Youth Centre’s Summer Program.  It offers youth a look at artists from their very own village, combined with hands-on experience of the particular artist’s speciality.  At the Wakefield Youth Centre.   Cost: $80.00 a week.  Registration night: June 7, 7-8 pm.  Pre and post babysitting available, 7:30 am. to 5:30 pm.

June 11“Birds Get Entangled by their Feet, People by their Tongues.” Vernissage of an exhibition of collaborative mixed media, constituting a visual dialogue between two Wakefield area artists, John F. Marok and Suzanne Evans. 7 pm at Galerie McKenzie Marcotte, 26 Sully Road, Wakefield. The exhibition continues until July 6.  Weekends 10 am – 5 pm. During the week by appointment or by chance.

June 14“Wordstock in Wakefield”. 
An evening of words, described by the organizer as an “open stage celebrating our imagination”.  It is an opportunity for participants to read poetry, tell stories, play music and play improv games.  Sponsored by Rendezvous Rupert and Theatre Wakefield.  At the Blacksheep Inn.  Starts at 7:00 pm.  No need to register in advance.  Admission: $5:00 per person.
