Until May 10.  “Beneath the Horizon”.   An exhibition of recent paintings by Chelsea artist Shawn McNevin at Galerie McKenzie Marcotte, 26 Sully Road, Wakefield.  The gallery is open weekends from 10am to 5pm. At all other times by chance or by appointment – call (819) 459-3164.  This is the opening exhibition of the gallery’s 2005 season.  Once again, Shawn McNevin’s paintings are inspired by his attachment to the rugged and ephemeral Newfoundland landscape.

April 5.  “Mountains Rock Glaciers”.  Exhibition of recent oil paintings from the Rocky Mountains, by Ruby Ewen, artist who lives on the Eardley Escarpment, near Gatineau Park

April 15.  Provincial square-dancing competition. The Shawville 4-H club square dancing teams will be participating in the  competition at Ormstown.  A fund-raising dance was held at the Shawville RA Hall on Friday April 7. April 15.  Deadline for registration in order to participate in an exhibition of miniature paintings sponsored by the Catholic Womens' League (CWL). This event is being organized to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the founding of Grand Calumet.  It will take place on July 19, in the Town Hall of Grand Calumet, 8 Mgr Martel, from 2 to 8 pm. The Aylmer Arts Council/Conseil des Arts d’Aylmer celebrates its 50th
 Anniversary with an exhibition of works in a variety of media at the Espace Pierre Debain, 120 Principale, Aylmer. The Council’s exhibitions bring together the work of both francophone and Anglophone artists. 
The exhibition will be open from Monday to Friday, 1
pm to 8 pm, and on Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 4 pm.
