Every last Thursday of the month (except in July, August and
December) Ron Moores and the Back 40 Band host the Back 40
Stage at Rasputins. The musicians of Back 40 come from both
Quebec and Ontario. Ron Moores resides in Cantley. He
regularly introduces at the Black Sheep Inn in Wakefield.
The Band broadcasts on CKCU-FM Community Radio (93.1) at

Former Aylmer resident Mary Jane Maffini will read from her
murder mystery Lament for a Lounge Lizard, a story
set in a tiny riverside Quebec tourist town (she insists it
is not Wakefield). At 2 pm.

May 30. Annual Dinner of the Gatineau Valley Historical
Society.
At 6:30 pm at the Club de golf Dunnderosa, 11, Notch Road,
Chelsea. The guest speaker will be Daniel Drolet,
long-time journalist at the Ottawa Citizen, who has been
uncovering and writing many of the untold stories in
Ottawa's 150 years.
The evening will also feature entertainment by Bobby Watt,
local traditional musician, stonemason and member of the
police pipe band.
