Chelsea Books, at 101 Old Chelsea Road, is hosting an exhibition of the work of seven tapestry artists from the area, who have been studying with Thoma Ewen, artistic director of the Moon Rain Centre for Tapestry Arts.  Ms. Ewen says: "They're all from Wakefield, Chelsea, Kazabazua.  Many are professional artists, we have a musician and an anthropologist." On April 8 the artists will be there in person, from 2.00 to 5.00 pm.  Everyone is welcome.

April 19.  Armstrong Heritage Farm Public Meeting.  At Shawville Lions Hall at 7.00 pm.  The purpose of the meeting is to obtain community input on the results of the feasibility studies carried out last year in connection with this history conservation project.  For more information about the Armstrong Heritage Farm project visit the website at www.armstrongheritagefarm.com

NEW DATE April 20. Ron Moores's Back 40 Band hosts the Back 40 Stage at Rasputin's with special guest
”Concession 23” at Rasputin
's, 696 Bronson Avenue, Ottawa.  7:30 p.m. Admission: $5.00.  “Concession 23” is led by Nick Strachan, from Wakefield.
The cover charge proceeds are split between the featured band/artist and the CKCU-FM 93.1 Funding Drive). Every last Thursday of the month (except in July, August and December) Ron Moores and the Back 40 Band host the Back 40 Stage at Rasputins.  The musicians of Back 40 come from both Quebec and Ontario.  Ron Moores resides in Cantley.  He regularly introduces at the Black Sheep Inn in Wakefield.  The Band broadcasts on CKCU-FM  Community Radio (93.1) at noon on Saturdays.  For information call Rasputins at (613) 230-5102 or email dean.verger@rasputins.ca, or call Ron Moores at (819) 827-0068, or email ron.moores@back40.ca

Special notice.City of Gatineau’s Committee on Arts, Culture, Writing and Heritage (Commission de l’art, de la culture, des lettres et du patrimoine)

deadline  for submission.
This Committee makes recommendations to the City Council respecting the direction and implementation of cultural policy.  It is increasing its membership in order to ensure conformity with the major directions of the City’s cultural policy and the spirit of participatory municipal government embodied in the City’s strategic plan.  The Committee will now consist of three (3) members of the City Council, eleven (11) residents of the City representing the various areas of artistic and cultural activity, and two (2) citizens who make use of such activity. 
A selection committee will examine the applications for membership and make its choices on the basis of availability, sector, knowledge of the area of activity, age and gender, and will take care to ensure the representation of youth (persons aged 18-25).Persons who wish to apply should communicate with the selection committee, submitting, by the April 25 deadline, a curriculum vitae and a letter explaining their interest in the work of the Committee on Arts, Culture, Writing and Heritage.  Submissions may be sent by fax to 1-
