Robinson had, as of the beginning of June, sold 400 copies
of his book How Quyon Came To Be, launched at Gavan's
Hotel in Quyon on May 21.
Stacey
Acker, a writer from Nova Scotia who now lives in Clarendon
Township, has been awarded a plaque by the International
Library of Poetry and poetry.com for her poem "When Life is
Rough", posted on the website poetry.com.
The poem will now be featured in a hardcover
book and has also been selected as one of 33 top poems which
are to be recorded on a CD poetry collection.

opening
in Wakefield
at 721 Riverside Drive, Wakefield. Under the direction of
Roberta Bouchard, it will stock fiction, children's books,
travel, reference and non-fiction books, in both French and
English. There will be a music section featuring local
talent, an art wall and cards for sale showing the work of
local artists. The store will take orders for books not in
stock. Bouchard describes the store's mission as providing
"a stimulating atmosphere and cultural meeting place where
people of different backgrounds and age groups can all find
something of interest."

Simon
Teakettle Ink, a patron of Great Canadian Theatre Company
for more than two decades, has arranged a unique
collaboration with the equity theatre company based in
Ottawa. All three books written by Barbara Florio Graham are
now for sale at GCTC, with 30% of the retail price to the
theatre’s building fund.

Bill Mason:
Wilderness Artist from Heart to Hand, by Ken Buck.
The book is the story of one of Canada's foremost canoeing
artists, whose home was in Chelsea. Ken Buck is a
retired secondary school teacher of English literature,
media studies and outdoor education. He worked as Bill
Mason's cinematographer and assistant editor for the
award-winning series of films Path of the Paddle, Song of
the Paddle and Waterwalker. He lives in Chelsea.
