July 9. “In  the Woods”.  Exhibition by by Ruby Ewen, artist who lives on the Eardley Escarpment, near Gatineau Park.  At the Galerie McKenzie-Marcotte, 26 Sully Road, Wakefield. Vernissage at 7:00 pm. The exhibition continues until August 3.   The Galerie is open on weekends 10.00 am. to  5:00 pm., and during the week by appointment or by chance.

“paints
through the seasons, drawn to the transformation nature undergoes throughout the year. Natural life cycles -- birth, death, decay and re-birth -- are all inherently beautiful as evidence of life transforming into something new and different, moment to moment. For Ruby, nature embodies the life force, and it is this force that compels her to paint.”

July 10:  “Homicide at the Home and School”, a murder mystery performed by the Pontiac Community Players.   At Dr. S.E.  McDowell School, 89 Centre Street, Shawville.  At 7:00 pm.  Admission: $20.00.
