July 16Amplify 819.  Here are the FULL DETAILS of the second concert in this series.  Bands featured:  Viscera’s Recital; A New Renaissance (from Gatineau); The Transit; Forty Cent Fix;  In Safe Hands At the Recreational Activities Centre, 455 Hillcrest Avenue, Shawville (behind Pontiac High School).  Doors open at 6.30 pm.  Admission: $5.00. 
This
is a youth music project, intended especially for young people in the Pontiac, who would otherwise never have the opportunity to hear alternative rock bands in their area.  It is designed to enhance their lives by introducing them to new music and cultural expression geared to their age group.  The event is to be staged in a location free of alcohol and drugs.  Young people are encouraged to participate in organizing the concerts.  Donations are being asked for to cover the cost.   
The final concert in the series will be on August 6.

July 22. Backbeat, local band. At the Aylmer Legion Hall, 59 Bancroft, Gatineau. 5.30 pm. Membership not required. Admission: $6.00 per person.

July 23:  “Tous les chemins mènent à l‘art.”  Television show profiling four Wakefield artists :  Michael Kinghorn, Lee Hutchinson, Carol Goodman and Marilyn French-St. George.  At 6:30 pm. on Canal Évasion, a specialty channel focusing on tourism.  It is accessible if you have a specialty channel contract with Vidéotron (channel 23 or 51 depending on your region);  if you have Cogeco consult your cable distributor.
