Ron Moores’s show Back 40 radio program gives a preview of
the 2004 Ottawa Valley Country Music Hall of Fame Awards
Show, on CKCU 93.1 FM, in
Ottawa beginning at
noon. The new members who are to be inducted into the Hall
of Fame are Doug and Shirley Sinclair, Art Jamieson, the
late Eddie Pigeon and Joe Teevens. Joe Teevens has been
mentioned in our Cultural Bulletin in connection with
performances of his Country Band at Quyon and Ladysmith. The
Awards Show will be held on
September 26,
at the Centrepointe Theatre, 101 Centrepointe Drive, Ottawa,
at 7:00 pm. Gail Gavan, also well known in country music
circles on both sides of the river, will be the host. Many
other performers will also be present.

This year six new artisans/artists will be joining the
group: Carmella Karijo Rother: (fabric artist); Mike Beedell
(photography, emphasizing the natural world); Kirei
(jeweler: wearable art, using the medium of fired glass and
precious metals); Monelle Vadier (haute couture); Lee
Hutchinson (pottery); Elizabeth Rutlidge (painting in
pastels); Heather MacDonald (sculpture in stone, accented
with other objects from the natural world).
