Pontiac printmaker’s workshop resumes activity.
Underground Impressions Souterraines
is an open working Artist’s Print Studio, located at 320
Main Street in Shawville.
Artist/printmaker
Raymond Sander-Regier
will be
using various hand printing processes over the summer. You
are invited to drop by and take this opportunity to learn
about printmaking processes and equipment,
see the creative work in progress and browse through the
finished pieces.

Deadline
for
Art Competition.
To celebrate their 50th Anniversary, F.H.
Rowat insurance is offering an award of $500.00 each for
nine pieces of art, to be selected by a panel of
judges. Each winning piece will be permanently hung in
one of the nine participating municipal libraries in the
Pontiac,
together with a short biography of the artist and a
photograph showing the artist presenting the work to the
mayor of the municipality. Works may be in any
medium, but the submission must be framed. Works to be submitted at the offices of F.H. Rowat in Shawville or
Fort Coulonge. Submissions will be judged the following
week and presentations will be made during Thanksgiving
Weekend.

EXPOSITION D’ART
is a group of nine artists
with home studios on Allumette Island, open to the public
from May 1 through October 31. Their works include painting
and sculpture in a variety of media. Palette signs, with
numbers and colours, guide you along the route from one
artist to another. Brochures are available throughout the
area at various businesses and tourist centers. The group
invites you to take the time to enjoy the EXPOSITION D’ART
this coming season and suggests that you may just find the
piece of art that you have been looking for!
