Pontiac Community Events 

September 30-October 2. The annual celebration of Oktoberfest Ladysmith.
Gates open on Friday, September 30 at

5 pm
.
  Activities include: on Friday (September 30), the Four Wheel Bike Pull, Fashion Show and Opening Ceremonies;  on Saturday (October 1), Outhouse Races, Horseshoes, Craft Booth, the 4x4 Truck and Modified Tractor Pull; on Sunday (October 2), which is German Costume Day, Craft Booth, Service at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Giant Pumpkins and Vegetables, Pumpkin Show for children under 12, the Parade with the Renfrew Pipe and Drum Band, and the Horse Draw.
Entertainment will be provided by:

- The Ladysmith Oktoberfest Dancers (on Saturday and Sunday)
- Redneck (Friday,
9 pm to 1 am.)
- Louis Schryer and friends

October 2. Art in the Park.  The artists of the Pontiac Artists Studio Tour invite everyone to join them at Luskville Falls Picnic Grounds, from 1.00 to 4.00 pm., for an afternoon of creative activity .  Indulge your creative energies by: Painting a mural, making paper, or printing with styrofoam.  Admission free.

Directions: From Hwy 148, take Hôtel de Ville Road North (beside Luskville Town Hall for 0.5 km, turn left into Picnic Grounds (Gatineau Park).

Until October 31. EXPOSITION D’ART is a group of nine artists with home studios on Allumette Island, open to the public from May 1 through October 31.  Their works include painting and sculpture in a variety of media.  Palette signs, with numbers and colours, guide you along the route from one artist to another. Brochures are available throughout the area at various businesses and tourist centers. The group invites you to take the time to enjoy the EXPOSITION D’ART this coming season and suggests that you may just find the piece of art that you have been looking for!
