Back to Community Home Page   2007 West Quebecers Community Awards Nomination Form: Deadline Friday March 30st, 2007 Thank you for your interest in the 4rd annual RAWQ Community Awards which will be held next June to highlight outstanding contributions made in the English-speaking community of West Quebec.RAWQ Awards are given to people selected from nominations received from the community at large, from community organizations, our members and the Board of Directors. Do you know someone who has volunteered time and energy toward improving their community? Have you met a person who has made a difference in West Quebec? Nominees must have once lived or studied in the Outaouais, irrespective of where they currently reside. The awards may also be given posthumously. Individuals, couples or groups may be nominated.  Once again this year, we  will not only be honoring some of the community’s most noteworthy, we will also be showcasing the wonderful arts and culture community we have here in the region. We will be hold a silent auction and some of our community’s young musicians will also entertain us.  In reviewing the nominations, the Awards selection committee will put an emphasis on rewarding new approaches and creativity in volunteerism and in communications and not on professional achievement. The selection committee will determine which Awards may be given each year from the following list: J.D. Coulson Award for Outstanding Achievement Graham Greig Award for Outstanding Community Service Award for Outstanding Leadership Leadership Award for Youth Award for Community Service in Education Award for Community Service in Health and Social Service Award for Community Service in Recreation and Livable Communities Award for Community Service in Arts and Culture To nominate a candidate, please complete this form and return it to the Regional Association of West Quebecers by March 30th. The Awards Selection sub-committee will review the nomination and submit their recommendations to the Board of Directors. Nominees will be contacted only if they are selected to receive an award. The awards will be presented next June at the West Quebecers Awards Banquet honouring the recipients. The recipients will receive a plaque and a lifetime membership to the Regional Association of West Quebecers.
