HEALTH AND SOCIAL SERVICES

The L'Agence de développement de réseaux locaux de services de santé et de services sociaux de l'Outaouais (formerly the Régie Régionale) is responsible for providing the region with a network of accessible health and social services. The office can be reached at:

The region is served by a network of health and social services organized on a local and regional basis. Each community has access to a range of primary care services provided by one or a number of institutions that comprise the following missions:

  • Local community service centre (C.L.S.C.)
  • Residential and extended-care facilities (C.H.S.L.D.)
  • Hospitals (CH)

Specialized services are provided by regional institutions either through local service point or at their urban centre. Their missions are as follows:

  • Rehabilitation centers (CR)
  • Youth Protection (CJ)
  • Specialized hospitals
  • More than 158 community organizations offer support services within the Outaouais community
  • 500 general practitioners and specialists work in private offices and institutions
