return to RAWQ home...The RAWQ ReportWest Quebecers New Residents ProgramThe Regional Association of West Quebecers (RAWQ) is undertaking a New Residents Program with funding from the federal department of Canadian Heritage. This outreach program will identify and then contact new English speaking residents to the Outaouais region. An Information Package will be developed and made available including pertinent information from the Government of Quebec and Outaouais municipalities, as well as business associations in the entire Outaouais region. It will also contain contact points and information regarding health related issues, educational institutions, community groups and volunteer activities and services being offered by Employment Centers for the Youth. The package will be kept current with listings of cultural events in the region. A social opportunity for New Residents to greet and meet long time residents and other new comers to the neighbourhood is in the planning stage.
